Terrorists using fake credit cards for cash
PARIS - Radical Islamic cells in Europe are using an ingenious way to finance terror networks that's virtually impossible to trace: withdrawing hundreds of thousands of dollars a month from cash machines with fake credit cards, according to France's top anti-terrorism judge.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am disappointed to read that you whole-heartedly
supported the email from Rick Mathes and printed
his article about the Muslim inmate that Rick spoke
to. Did you know this man was not an Imam as one
could not be arranged? Did you know that Rick's
story cannot be acknowledged as accurate by Tim Kniest,
spokesman for the Missouri Department of
Corrections? Did you know that Rick declined further
comment? If you want to spread misinformation and hate,
just be honest about it. It does much discredit to
the ideals you claim to support when you print junk
as if it were truth.

Did you even try to research this information to
see if it was accurate? Did you not realize that
Rick Mathes leads several mission gospel groups, and
so as a missionary his first priority is to gain
followers, from truth or not?

You will find some of the most patriotic Americans
to be foreign born. They know what the other side
looks like and are very thankful to be here. They
participate in government and have the highest
voting rate of all Americans. Is your website just for
white Americans or can any patriotic American
become informed and inspired by reading it?

Do you fall prey to the ramblings of our media as
well? It seems to me that you are easily swayed and
believe too faithfully in the media, of course only
when it suites you. I thought you were above such
nonsense as the subject matter of your website
encourages people to think for their selves. So,
start thinking for yourself instead of letting the
media do it for you.

I recently joined Senator Jim Jeffords (I-VT) in
writing to the
Environmental Protection Agency regarding our
concerns about
the slow rate of Superfund cleanups throughout the
country.
Our concern is that these cleanups do not have
sufficient
funding to go forward.

More than half of Superfund new construction
projects that
needed funding in fiscal year 2004 received none.
In total, 34
projects out of a total of 61 new construction
projects did not
receive funding. One project in California has
been on the
Superfund National Priorities List since 1999.
This lack of
funding for new construction projects continues a
disturbing
trend.

One in every four Americans – 70 million people,
including 10
million children – lives within 4 miles of a
Superfund site.
Not funding the cleanup of these sites poses
unacceptable risks
to human health and the environment. However,
getting them
cleaned up does not appear to be a priority for the
very agency
that is named the “Environmental Protection
Agency.”

Senator Jeffords and I pointed out that we find the
lack of
funding for these Superfund sites to be
unacceptable and asked
for EPA to provide information about each of the
unfunded
sites. We also asked that EPA support the full
funding of the
cleanup of all Superfund sites by supporting the
reinstatement
of polluter pays fees which could ensure that sites
are cleaned
up and that taxpayers are not stuck with the bill.

Superfund will remain a focus for me in the coming
Congress.
Too many sites remain a danger to local residents
and the costs
for cleanup continue to soar.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The White House said it will borrow money to finance Social Security private retirement accounts -- a reform widely expected to cost more than a trillion dollars.

The US Social Security system, which pays retirees and the disabled, is underfunded by 10 trillion dollars over the long term, US President George W. Bush spokesman Scott McClellan said.

"There will be some up-front transition financing that will be needed to move toward a better system that will allow younger workers to invest a small portion of their own money into personal savings accounts," he said.

Asked if "upfront transition financing" meant borrowing, McClellan said: "Well, that's what you're looking at doing as part of the transition to a better Social Security system."

Bush has said he favors allowing younger workers to set up "personal savings accounts" to pay for a portion of their pensions, while leaving the system unchanged for people closer to retirement.

The problem is that if young people divert money into personal accounts for their own use after retirement, that money would not be immediately available for existing retirees.

Asked whether the White House agreed that the financing gap could be one-to-two trillion dollars, McClellan gave no direct answer.

But he said the costs of doing nothing were higher.

"The cost is 10 trillion dollars if we do nothing. So what you are talking about would be a significant savings over those costs. The Social Security system is unsustainable. It needs to be fixed."

Bush's administration announced in October a record 2004 budget deficit of 413 billion dollars.

US Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan has repeatedly warned that the current budget woes will be exacerbated when people born in the baby boom generation start retiring in 2008.

"This dramatic demographic change is certain to place enormous demands on our nation's resources -- demands that we almost surely will be unable to meet unless action is taken," Greenspan warned lawmakers this year.

"For a variety of reasons, that action is better taken as soon as possible," he said.
